Bob Quinn - Director of Athletics

 

Bob Quinn returned to the Purple and Gold after 23 years at Wheaton Warrenville South High School in Wheaton, Illinois in 2009.  Quinn is a proud member of the Loras College class of 1986 and graduated with a degree in Special Education.  He was a special education teacher and served as the Tiger head baseball coach for 12 seasons.  After earning his Masters of Educational Leadership in 1998 from National Louis University, Quinn moved into an administrative role.  Quinn served the Tigers as the Athletic Director and Assistant Principal for Athletics and Operations for 12 years.  As Assistant Principal for Athletics and Operations, Quinn managed 25 sports and oversaw a $36 million dollar renovation and new construction project which was completed in 2006.

 

After retiring from the Wheaton Warrenville South dugout, Quinn spent 8 years as an area scout for MLB’s Florida Marlins. 

 

Quinn was a four year member of the baseball team at Loras College in the program’s final years as a member of the National Association Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA).  Currently, he oversees 22 intercollegiate sports and over 500 student-athletes within the National Colligate Athletic Association (NCAA) Division III.

 

Quinn serves the Iowa Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (IIAC) as the Athletic Director liaison to football.  He serves the NCAA as a member of the Baseball Rules Committee.  He is in the second year of a four year term advising and evaluating current playing rules for NCAA Division I, II and III baseball.
