Not quite six weeks after the announcement that Teresa Kehe was moving on to Linn-Mar High School and two weeks away from commencement, Loras College has selected Jenna Ness to lead their volleyball program. Ness is Loras' 12^th head coach in program history and replaces Kehe, who logged 149 wins over eight seasons.

The Loras College men's track and field team finished in third place at this year's Iowa Conference Outdoor Championships inside the Rock Bowl with 127.5 points. Loras' performances were highlighted by three conference titles and seven more All-Iowa Conference efforts.

The Loras College baseball team returned to the Iowa Conference Tournament on Thursday and Friday and managed one convincing win and a pair of hard fought losses to end their 2013 season at 19-21.

The Loras College Department of Athletics once again celebrated their achievements and successes with the annual Dewey Awards on Sunday. A total of 23 awards were handed out in a variety of categories. Additionally, the members of the senior class who participated for four full seasons were presented with their purple letterman's "L" blankets.

The Loras College baseball team went 1-3 against the Buena Vista Beavers in the rain delayed final series of the 2013 regular season on Sunday and Monday. When the dust settled on the final weekend, Loras stood at sixth in the standings and will play Buena Vista – the #3 seed – at 1:00 PM on Thursday in Cedar Rapids in the first round of the 2013 Iowa Conference Tournament.

Loras College will host the 2013 Iowa Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (IIAC) Track & Field Championships May 9-11 at the Rock Bowl. The event returns to the Rock Bowl for the first time since 2005. That year, the Loras men's team claimed the title and the women's team finished in second place.

Loras and Dubuque split the doubleheader, as they did two weeks ago, to finish 2-2 against the Spartans this year.
