Earlier this month in Indianapolis, Travis Misner participated in the NCAA Convention as the Iowa Conference representative for national Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC). Last week, he learned of his selection as an NCAA representative at the International University Sport Federation (FISU) Forum set for March 26-31 in Chinese Taipei.

The last time the women's basketball team faced off against the Buena Vista University Beavers it was just the first victory on the path to what would become a six-game winning streak after the Duhawks finished business Wednesday night, 61-42, against the same Beavers (9-11 overall, 4-7) at the AWC.

The Beavers of Buena Vista University claimed an Iowa Conference victory on Wednesday night in the AWC after a hard-fought 40 minutes of hoops. The visitors outscored the Duhawks 39-31 in the second half to erase a five point halftime deficit. Loras fell to 2-10 in the IIAC with the loss while the Beavers moved to 8-3 with their sixth straight win.

The going got tough over the last week for the Loras College women's basketball team. Four games in seven days, including the long trip to Storm Lake. The opponents were among top five teams in the IIAC when the week started. The tough got going to the tune of a 3-1 week, defeating defending Iowa Conference co-champions Simpson and Coe at home in their last two games. They posted their first three-game winning streak of the season with Saturday's win over the Kohawks.

Over 150 wrestlers took to the mats on Saturday in the Graber Sports Center for the annual Pat "Flash" Flanagan wrestling tournament. Ten champions were crowned and ten Duhawks set their sights on the field of wrestlers from junior colleges to NCAA Division I schools.

The Loras College wrestling team hosted their first dual meet of 2011-12 on Wednesday night and took down the Simpson College Storm, 30-9. Loras used two pins, four decisions, and a forfeit to reach 30 points, their highest output of the season.

The Loras College women's basketball team made 12-of-21 shots in the final 20 minutes in Storm Lake, Iowa on Monday night to knock off the Buena Vista Beavers by nine points. Loras attempted a season high 38 free throws, making 28, and were aggressive throughout the 40 minutes on their way to the win.
