  • Jackson has had many titles and nicknames over the years, but when it comes to Duhawk basketball, one fit perfectly: Mr. Rebound. Some 35 years after his last Duhawk game, Jackson still stands alone in many rebounding categories.

  • From the outset, the former Chicago Dunbar 6-foot-6 prep standout was dominant. He started as a first year student, helping the Duhawks to an 18-10 season in the Midlands Conference championship. He was third in scoring and second in rebounds on that 1966-67.

  • As a sophomore, he averaged 20.2 points a game and 11.8 rebounds. In his junior year, Jackson set the single season Loras record for rebounds (376) and rebound average (13.9 a game) which still stands today.

  • Jackson was the first junior ever to join the Loras 1,000 point club, and ended his Duhawk career as the No. 1 rebounder and third-leading scorer.

  • Today, he still ranks as the top rebounder (1,103) and No. 6 in scoring (1,619). He is the only former Duhawk who averaged in double figures in scoring (17) and rebounds (11.6), and holds first and third places for season rebounds (376 and 296) and first and second in rebound average (13.9 and 11.8 a game) in the Duhawk record book.
