ACCOMPLISHMENTS/HONORS:

  • At Loras College from 1970-1988. He worked directly with the athletics program as Director of Public Information, Sports Information Director and assistant football coach.

  • His lifelong commitment to Loras also led him to many other roles on campus: Assistant to the President, Legislative Liaison Officer, Iowa College Foundation Fundraiser, Moderator of the Lorian and Purgold, official college photographer and director of the college photography department and the host, producer and director of a weekly 30-minute television show, The Loras Report.

  • Worked closely with the Alumni Office and the Advancement Office, and was integral in helping bring football back to Loras in 1970 after the program was discontinued from 1960-69.

  • A graduate of Iowa State University, Coyle was involved in the community as well working for the Dubuque Kiwanis Club (president), Boy's Club, United Way, Holy Ghost School Board (president) and Metropolitan School Board. With his support of Loras athletics and community activities in Dubuque, he received the Moco Mercer award.

  • Coyle is now a retired newspaper publisher and does consulting work in the publishing industry. He does radio play-by-play of high school and college sports on KDSJ in Deadwood, South Dakota. Master of ceremonies and a photographer for special events at many of his towns gaming halls and citywide celebrations.
