The only football squad to go undefeated in school history, the 1947 Duhawks declined a post season bowl bid fearing financial loss.
Defeated rival St. Ambrose 20-6 for the Bell Trophey in-front of a record 10,000 fans in the Rock Bowl on October 5, 1947.
Team produced three all-Americans and four individual Loras Athletic Hall of Famers.
