Karl Stubben - Head Coach - 9th Season

Karl Stubben enters his ninth season as the head coach of the Loras College women's tennis team. He made the jump from high school to college coach at Loras in 2005 as he takes over a program that surprised the Iowa Conference in 2004. He had spent the previous six seasons as a high school head coach in the area.

Stubben spent five years at Wahlert High School, and one season at Edgewood (Madison, Wis.) High School. He sports a career mark of 57-37, and his 2004 Edgewood team finished second in the state. At Wahlert he led the Golden Eagles to two elite eight appearances and the 2002 conference title in addition to being the only Mississippi Valley Valley school to upset perennial state powers Cedar Rapids Kennedy and Iowa City West.

While Stubben has never been a head coach at the college level, he has previously coached at the University of South Dakota, serving as an assistant under Joe Eckert from 1998-1999. He also has extensive professional experience, serving as the head teaching professional at Thunder Hills Golf & Country Club from 2004-05.

A graduate of South Dakota State, Stubben was a captain for three years as he worked towards his double degree in athletic training and political science. He currently teaches sophomore science and physics at Western Dubuque High School.
