Three Duhawks headed to nationals
Mon, May. 20, 2013 - [Track]

The 2013 NCAA Division III Outdoor Track and Field Championships in Lacrosse, Wisconsin begins on May 23 and will include a trio of Duhawks. Katie Langmeier, Caitlin Groeper, and Josh Goerdt will represent the Duhawks at UW-Lacrosse.

Langmeier and Groeper will compete in the High Jump after setting the Loras College record in the event last week. The duo each reached 1.69 meters (5-6.5) at the Augustana "last chance" event. The mark was one half inch better than Langmeier's previous record of 5-6 set in 2012. They'll enter tied for the tenth best jumps this year at 1.69 meters. The finals of this year's championship are at 2:15 on Friday, May 24.

Josh Goerdt's quest to reach the All-American stand will also begin on Friday afternoon. He enters the 400 Meter Dash event with the second best seed time in the country at 47.39 seconds. His preliminary race is set for 6:10 pm on Friday night. Goerdt reset the school record at the host Eagles' Roger Harring Stadium at the qualifier meet last week after recently defending his IIAC title and winning the IIAC Men's Track MVP award.
