Herrmann earns Cleveland Golf/Srixon All-America Scholar award

On Tuesday, Loras College senior men's golfer Sam Herrmann was one of 30 Division III golfers named to the Cleveland Golf/Srixon All-America Scholar Team. 

 

The award, handed out by the Golf Coaches Association of America, has five criteria for qualification. The Mount Vernon, Iowa native made the cut by having a GPA above 3.2, being a junior or senior, having two years of college golf under his belt, competing in over half of his team's rounds, and having a scoring average of 79 or less.

 

Herrmann, a senior, posted two top five finishes and six top 20 finishes in his 13 rounds and seven total events. He won the IIAC Individual Medalist honors at the 2012 championship.

 

The award also requests nominees be in good standing with their college and be of high moral character.
