Dubuque, 10

Loras, 9

Thursday night was the makeup date for last week's home finale in the 2013 inaugural season of Loras College women's lacrosse. University of Dubuque made their second trip to the Rock Bowl this season and left with a victory this time, after Loras won the first game 10-7 earlier this month.

The Duhawks were off on the right foot early, scoring four of the game's first five goals. Kaitlyn Kutsch scored less than two minutes in to open the scoring and then followed with two more in the first half to make it 3-1. Gina Dacy made it 4-1 with eight minutes to play in the first half. The Spartans responded before the break, netting two goals in the final five minutes, the first of which came with a Duhawk serving a two minute penalty.

Loras' 4-3 halftime lead was short-lived, as Spartans leading scorer Judy Borah gave the visitors a 5-4 lead five minutes into the second half.

The game would be tied 5-5, 6-6, 7-7, 8-8, and 9-9 over the final 23 minutes.

Another power play goal by Dubuque in the second half game them a lead at 8-7. Cat Brandt and Kutsch scored back-to-back Loras goals to make it 9-8, but Kutsch's final home goal of the season would be Loras' final goal and came with nine minutes still left on the clock. Borah did the rest for Dubuque, scoring the game-winner with 2:32 to play.

The Duhawks' final game of 2013 will be tonight in Naperville, Illinois when they take on North Central at 7:00 PM.
