CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa --- The Iowa Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (IIAC) announced its end-of-season wrestling awards Wednesday.

Loras heavyweight James Buss (Chicago, Ill. / De La Salle) has been tapped as the league's inaugural Freshman Wrestler of the Year. Buss, who finished the year 37-6 overall, won the NCAA Central Region title and placed fourth at the NCAA Division III Championships to earn All-America honors. Of his six losses, two came against NCAA Division I competition. The other four all came at the hands of 2013 NCAA Division III All-Americans. He was the only Iowa Conference freshman All-American in 2013 and one of seven to earn a top-4 finish at nationals. Sixteen of Buss' victories came via fall (12) or major decision (4).

Wartburg 133-pounder Kenny Anderson (Billerica, Mass./Billerica) has been named Iowa Conference MVP for the second consecutive year after he successfully captured a second NCAA title.

In addition to their other honors, Anderson and Buss are also members of the inaugural All-Iowa Conference Wrestling Team. The 30-member squad is composed of the top three Iowa Conference place-winners at the NCAA Division III Central Region Championships. Included in that total are nine regional champions. Wartburg led the way, placing its entire 10-man regional lineup on the all-IIAC team. Luther placed seven on the all-league squad, followed by six from Dubuque and four from Coe. Buena Vista, Central and Loras each had one all-conference wrestler.
