For the fourth time in as many weeks, junior Josh Goerdt ran his 400m dash in less than 50 seconds, this time at the NCAA Division III National Championships on the campus of North Central College in Naperville, Illinois.

After winning the Iowa Conference 400m dash in February, with a time of 49.91 seconds, Goerdt kept after it and posted times of 49.64 seconds and 49.46 seconds at the UW-Madison and UW-LaCrosse meets.

According to the record book, Goerdt's recent performances in the 400m dash have put him in good company in the Loras Indoor Track and Field record book. Before the 2013 Indoor Track Season, Goerdt sat at third place all time with his 50.10 mark at the Iowa Conference Indoor Championships just a year ago. The 49.35 time that Goerdt posted this weekend puts him comfortably in second place all-time in Loras history.

The Duhawks will kick off their 2013 Outdoor Track & Field season this weekend, as they host their annual Alumni Meet in the Rock Bowl. The following weekend, the team will travel to Washington University in St. Louis and participate in their first competitive outdoor meet of the season.
