Augustana, 21
Loras, 0

After having to move the contest from the Rock Bowl to Rock Island, the Duhawks took the field in the program's first ever lacrosse match. Over the last many months, Head Coach Emily Goetz has been working tirelessly to educate and teach 16 lady Duhawks the sport of lacrosse. This is no new task for Goetz, as she previously coached at Carthage College in Wisconsin, where she was a part of another upstart program.

While Augustana is in the second year of their program's history, the Vikings went 15-3 in their inaugural season and have grown out of their young program struggles that many teams often face.

Freshman Sam Schmidt posted five saves for the Duhawks in the loss.

Loras will continue their season this Wednesday as they travel to Beloit College to take on the Buccaneers at 6 p.m. They'll then play their home opener on March 16 at 6:00 PM - moving the contest up one day.
