Langmeier named to All-IIAC First Team, Defensive Player of the Year

2012-13 All-IIAC Women's Basketball Teams


Last week the Iowa Conference released the 2012-2013 women's basketball All-Iowa Conference teams.  The Duhawks were represented by junior Katie Langmeier who was a first-team selection and the Co-Defensive player of the year and senior Melissa Herrmann was also named to the second team. 


For Herrmann, this marks her second appearance on the All-Conference team (Honorable Mention 2011-2012). She ranked 20th in scoring, 8th in rebounding, 7th in free throw percentage, and led the conference in blocked shots for the second straight season.


Herrmann led the Duhawks in rebounding per game (6.6) and blocked shots per game (2.3) while being the second leading scorer at 8.5 points per game. Hermann was a four-year letter winner for the Duhawks.


Katie, a junior was selected to her first All-Conference team and was also named Co-Defensive player of the year. Langmeier was 18th in scoring, 9th in rebounding, 8th in field goal percentage, 7th in steals per game, and led the league in offensive rebounds per game.


Langmeier helped anchor the league's second best scoring defense at 58.6 points per game. She led the Duhawks in points per game (9.3), field goal percentage (45%), steals per game (2.36), free throws made and attempted, and matched Herrmann' rebounds  per game (6.6).


The Duhawks finished 2012-13 with an overall record of 18-9 and reached the Iowa Conference semifinals.
