The men's track and field team was at University of Dubuque's campus this weekend – along with the other six conference schools – for the 2013 Iowa Conference Indoor Championships. The team finished with 86 points, good for fourth place.

Iowa Conference titles went to Josh Goerdt in the 400 Meter Dash and the 4x200 Meter Relay team.   Goerdt was the only sub-:50 time in the 400, posting a 49.91. He was followed to the finish line by All-IIAC performances from Zach Frey and Stedman Foster. Frey crossed the line in 50.65 and Foster was done in 50.86. Goerdt, a junior, added a fifth place finish in the 200.

He was also part of a school record on Saturday night with the 4x200 team. He ran the second leg, taking the baton from Nick Ball and handing it to Zac Gassman. Gassman handed to Kyle Ward for the anchor and the quartet reached the finish line in 1:30.18 – a school record – edging Simpson's team by :00.04 seconds. Each of the top six teams were within a second of the Duhawks' team.

The 4x400 Meter relay was third, with Kyle Ward substituted for lead man Stedman Foster.

Tim Derr added a bronze in the 55 Meter Hurdles (7.81).  Keontae Neely added a third place finish in the Triple Jump (13.46M).

There's one week's worth of ‘Last Chance' meets available to the Duhawks ahead of the March 8-9 NCAA Championships at North Central College in Naperville, Illinois.
