The Loras College women's basketball team officially punched their ticket to the 2013 Iowa Conference basketball tournament on Wednesday night with their road win over the Central Dutch.

After a slow start by both teams, Loras opened the scoring after a scoreless first four minutes. They eventually took the lead for good with 5:35 to go in the first half. A late 14-3 run by the Duhawks in the first half helped them take an 11 point lead into the locker room at halftime. Loras scored 17 points off 13 first half Dutch turnovers.

The second half saw the Duhawks open a double digit lead after five minutes and extend that lead as the half progressed. The Dutch scored just three points over the final seven minutes. Loras scored third during the same stretch to finish with a healthy 21 point victory.

Individually, Kelly Rogowski scored a game high 15 points to lead the Duhawks. She went 4-for-7 from the field, 2-for-4 from long distance, and 5-for-7 from the free throw line. Joining her in double figures were Niki Rivera and Katie Langmeier with 10 points. Rivera added three assists and two steals. Langmeier added eight rebounds and a pair of steals for their own.

The win puts the Duhawks back above .500 ahead of the final IIAC regular season game at University of Dubuque on Saturday. It also puts them in the 2013 Iowa Conference tournament. 17 wins on the year also matches the most under head coach Justin Heinzen (2007-08). Loras and the Spartans have matching 17-7, 7-6 records ahead of Saturday's game.
