Duhawks take team title in Platteville

The Loras College women's track and field team scored 137.5 points on Saturday in Platteville, Wisconsin to take the team title from the hosts. Morgan Steere accounted for 20 of those points, helping Loras surpass the Pioneers' 130. 


Steere threw the shot 38-9 and was more than a foot and a half better than second place. In the Weight Throw, her best effort was a 45-8.5, more than two feet better than the runner up. Joining Steere with a title on Saturday was the 4x200 Meter Relay team.


Other top performances came from Abby Davis (2nd, 60 Meter Dash), Briauna Richardson (2nd, 200 Meter Dash), Emily Ruhser (2nd, 60 Meter Hurdles), and Rachel Kolbeck (2nd, Pole Vault).


Loras also added a second place in the 4x400 Meter Relay.


Next weekend, the Duhawks are in suburban Chicago for the event at North Central. That is the site of the NCAA Division III Indoor Championships in early March. They'll be in Dubuque for the Iowa Conference Championships on February 22-23 at the University of Dubuque.
