The Loras College women's basketball team is back above .500 in the Iowa Conference after their home win over the Central Dutch on Saturday afternoon. Loras won by 16 points thanks to a 4-for-6 effort from long distance in the first half and eight second half points from Katie Wheeler. Loras had seven players score six points or more.

The Duhawks started fast with a three-pointer from Niki Rivera on the game's opening possession and were quickly out to a 10-1 lead. Kaitling Phillips' three-pointer made it a 15 point lead – the largest of the first half – for the Duhawks with nine minutes to play. The Dutch made a layup as the first half buzzer sounded to make it 32-22 at intermission.

The second half saw the Duhawks take charge quickly. They opened their largest lead of the game at 50-26 before the Dutch chipped away in the final minutes.

A busy week continues for the Duhawks on Monday night when the Wartburg Knights (10-5, 5-0) come to the AWC. Loras will then host Dubuque on KCRG 9.2 on Wednesday night before a trip to Waverly for a rematch with the Knights on January 26.
