The Loras College men's swimming team defeated the Beloit Buccaneers on Friday night by a healthy 118-82 margin. It was the final home event for seniors Bob Kupfert and Jason DeWane.
Individually, Greg Cormier and Matt Bogen won two individual events. Cormier took home the 1000 Freestyle (11:11.74) and the 100 Butterfly (59.11). Bogen added titles in the 200 (1:51.78) and 500 (5:02.49) Freestyle.
The other highlight of the night was the wins posted by seniors Kupfert and DeWane. The duo joined Will Rabedeaux and Grant Duncan on the opening 200 Medley Relay team. Kupfert was also on the victorious 200 Freestyle Relay Team. DeWane added an individual title in the 100 Backstroke (1:00.25).
Loras will be in Sioux City, Iowa on January 25 to take on swimmers from Iowa Central, Morningside, and College of St. Mary.
