The Loras College women's basketball team dropped their second straight home game to an IIAC by one point on Thursday night. The Wartburg Knights edged the Duhawks 62-61 in the AWC behind 16 points from Katie Zittergruen.

Lindsay Bava scored a game high 20 points for Loras and point guard Lisa Morrissey added 15 in the loss. Bava, Alex Hudson, and Sarah Pillon each had at least five rebounds for the Duhawks, who shot 36% from the field for the game.

The Duhawks were even with the Knights in nearly every statistical category, but missed a total of 18 three point attempts and in the end made 20-of-55 field goals while the Knights made 23-of-55.

Loras fell into a group of teams at 1-2 early on in the Iowa Conference season. They will take the court again on Saturday in a non-conference tilt against North Central in the AWC. Tipoff is 2:00 PM and can be seen on the Duhawk Broadcast Network. Iowa Conference play resumes after the new year on January 6 at Luther College.
