Thunder hold court in Wheaton, Illinois
Wed, Nov. 21, 2012 - [Men's Basketball]

Wheaton, 90

Loras, 63

The Loras College men's basketball team was in Wheaton, Illinois on Tuesday night for their annual clash with the Thunder. The hosts prevailed by a 90-63 margin thanks to their first half effort of 68% shooting from the floor and 32 points from Tyler Peters.

The Duhawks fell in an early hole trailed for much of the first half while the home rims were kind to the Thunder. They hit on 17 of their first half shots in 25 attempts and made 11-of-12 free throws in the opening 20 minutes to set the Duhawks back.

The second frame saw the Duhawks improve on both the offensive and defensive ends, scoring seven more points and allowing eight fewer. There was no coming back against the hosts, however, as they kept the Duhawks at safe distance.

Loras fell to 1-2 with the loss ahead of this Saturday's home opener against Concordia-Chicago. The teams will tip off at 4:00 PM and then be back in the AWC on Monday night for another non-conference tilt, this time a 7:00 PM contest against UW-Eau Claire.
