Duhawks improve to 3-0 after first road test

The Loras College women's basketball team is 3-0 after Tuesday night's 50-40 road win over Concordia-Chicago in River Forest, Illinois. After gaining the lead for the first time with 7:45 to go in the first half, Loras didn't allow the Cougars back in front. 

  

The Duhawks led by as many as 11 points late in the first half and held off a late charge by the hosts on their way to their third straight win.

 

Melissa Herrmann scored 10 points and pulled down five rebounds, adding three blocks and three assists to lead Loras on the stats sheet. Allie DiVito added eight points and nine rebounds. Lauren Byrne had nine points nine points for the Duhawks.

 

Loras' bench outscored Concordia's 31-4. The Cougars were held to 28% shooting (12-for-43).

 

Opponents have now shot 22%, 30%, and 28% in three games against the Duhawks. The team will be at the UW-LaCrosse tournament this weekend to play Nebraska Wesleyan on Saturday and the host Eagles on Sunday.
