Mon, Nov. 12, 2012 - [Soccer]

The Loras College Department of Athletics has been selected to host NCAA Division III men's soccer sectional rounds on November 16-17. On November 16, the Duhawks (21-1-1) will host UW-Platteville (16-3-1). Wheaton College (17-3-3) will play Dominican University (18-2-1) in the other matchup.

The third round winners will play on Saturday evening for a chance at the national semifinals in San Antonio, Texas.

Pending approval from the NCAA and its media partners, all games over the weekend will be streamed live on duhawks.com at: http://client.stretchinternet.com/client/loras.portal#

Loras College's women's team (19-4) will play in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania on Saturday. The Duhawks play Emory University (13-1-6) at Carnegie Mellon University. The CMU Tartans (13-1-4) host Wheaton College (Massachusetts) (18-1-6) in the other sectional matchup.

Times for these games have not yet been determined.

Loras is making their sixth appearance in the ‘Sweet 16' sectional round with the men's program (2005, 2007, 2008, 2009, 2010) and the women are there for the third time in program history (2003, 2010). A win by the women's program would be their deepest run into the tournament. The men's program appeared in back-to-back national semifinals in 2007 and 2008.
