Sun, Nov. 11, 2012 - [Men's Cross Country]

The Duhawks men's cross country team finished with 170 team points on Saturday at the NCAA Division III Regional race at St. Olaf on Saturday. That total was good for fifth place.

Leading the Duhawks to the finish line was sophomore Steve Loran in 23rd place. Ten seconds later, both Ty Wittman and Austin Steil had crossed the line. The trio each earned All-Region status their top 35 finishes. Loran needed 26:21 to complete the course, Wittman 26:25, and Steil 26:30.

The other two scoring slots were filled by Ryan Sheeran and Rob Howe. Sheeran was in 42nd place in 26:41 and Howe was 43rd in 26:44.

Loras' top seven was filled out by Sam Whan's 27:27 and Chris Higgins' 27:42.

The Duhawks failed to make the automatic qualifying list for the national meet with their fifth place slot. They were hoping to learn of an at-large bid to the race today, but did not qualify through that process via the at-large slot and won't make the trip to Rose-Hulman for the championship event.
