The top-seeded Loras College women's soccer team won their ninth straight game and completed the month of October without a loss after defeating Central College 2-0 in the Iowa Conference semifinals on Wednesday night.

Lynn DeVriese scored twice in the game's opening 17 minutes to put Loras in front. The Duhawks didn't look back. DeVriese's goals were her team high 11th and 12th of 2012.

In the fourth minute, Katie Truesdale worked her way to the end line and sent a pass to the junior from East Moline, Illinois. DeVriese buried the scoring chance past Central goalkeeper Steph Hasken. Thirteen minutes later, Ailish Rispin's shot was too hot to handle for Hasken, and DeVriese pounced, pushing another into the Dutch net.

Loras took ten shots in each half. Central took five in the first half and four in the second.

Loras' Hannah Wilson made four saves in her 75 minutes in goal.

Hasken finished with nine saves.

The Duhawks will host the Iowa Conference tournament championship game on Saturday at 5:00 PM against #3 seed University of Dubuque. In the regular season finale on October 23, the Duhawks defeated the Spartans 3-1.

Loras is seeking their third straight IIAC tournament title and the league's automatic bid to the NCAA Division III Championships. 2012 marks the eleventh time in the last twelve tournament title games that Loras has been a participant. Loras is seeking their tenth tournament title on Saturday night.
