The Loras College men's cross country team hosted their annual event, the Dr. Tucker Invitational on Friday afternoon at the Dubuque Soccer Complex. The Duhawks were the best among the four teams, scoring 20 points on their way to the team win.
Individually, Austin Steil led the line of five straight Duhawks to the finish line from 2nd through 6th place. The total spread of times was just 36 seconds.
Steil was done in 25:55 and then he was followed by Rob Howe (25:59), Ryan Sheeran (26:23), Steve Loran (26:24), and Chris Higgins (26:31).
Loras' alumni ‘team' also performed well. The old guard of Chad Leitzen and Marcus Murphy were the first two to cross the finish line.
The race wraps up the ‘regular season' for Loras, who will now turn their attention to defending their IIAC title from 2011 on October 27.
