Coe College played host to Loras Wednesday afternoon for the midweek Iowa Conference matchup between 4th ranked Duhawks and the Kohawks. For just the fourth time this season, the Duhawks were kept off the score sheet in the first half. Coe's luck would quickly run out after the teams returned for the second half.

In the 48th minute, senior Forrest Olson took the pass from sophomore Johnny Rummelhart and sent it far post beating Jake Feldman for the first goal of the match. The goal eased some of the early frustrations the Duhawks had, after taking 16 shots in the first half with only two on target.

Both teams had their fair share of frustrations with the wind as it proved to play a role in a number of punts and goal kicks. Loras made it a point to keep the ball on the pitch and use their speed to create opportunities.

Freshman JoJo Schmidt took a touch from senior Brad Joiner and ripped a shot that deflected off a Coe defender before going into the back of the net in the 62nd minute.

Junior Tim van den Bergh would add his third goal of the year in the 72nd minute when he laced his shot into the upper 90 of the goal.

Sophomore Sean Elvert earned his first solo shutout on the year after only facing two corner kicks and two errant shot attempts.

Loras moves to 13-1-1 and 4-0 in the Iowa Conference with the victory.

The Wartburg Knights will visit the Rock Bowl on Saturday which will certainly renew the rivalry as well as potentially have some postseason implications for the two teams.
