DUBUQUE, IOWA – With two goals in the first half, the Loras College Duhawks moved to 10-4 overall and 3-0 in the Iowa Conference with a win over the Central College Dutch.

From the kickoff, the Duhawks controlled much of the tempo and pace of the match, leading to a command on the statline over the Dutch. Loras broke through in the 11th minute with a goal by Jayne Eslinger. The senior from Chicago, Ill. sent home the corner kick attempt from sophomore Kristina Everding to put Loras out in front.

Junior Lynn DeVriese followed up after Eslinger with a goal of her own in the 20th minute to put the Duhawks out of reach of the Dutch. Loras would go on to outshoot Central 22-8, with Steph Hasken, the Central goalkeeper making eight saves. Everding would contribute an assist on each of the goals for Loras in the match.

The win keeps the Duhawks perfect in the Iowa Conference, with the anticipation building for the showdown next Saturday against Wartburg in the Rock Bowl. The Knights have been in the Top 25 every week so far this year and are perfect in the IIAC as well.

Before that match though, Loras will travel to Coe on Wednesday to take on the Kohawks in an Iowa Conference matchup.
