DUBUQUE, IOWA – With two first half goals, the #5 Loras College Duhawks moved to 3-0 in Iowa Conference play over the visiting Central College Dutch.

Following their 2-0 win over Luther last Saturday, Loras returned to the Rock Bowl to continue their Iowa Conference schedule. Over the past couple seasons, the Dutch have played Loras tough, especially in the physical sense.

In 2011, Central and Loras played to a 3-3 draw in the regular season. The result certainly shook things up in the conference until of course Luther defeated Loras, 2-0, in Decorah to claim the title outright. Loras was sure to take care of business in the conference tournament, however, eliminating the Dutch by a 2-0 scoreline.

The Duhawks continued their strong play of late by putting themselves on the scoreboard early, courtesy of a Kevin Cavers assist to the Brad Joiner. Cavers sent Joiner streaking down the center of the pitch, and Joiner slotted it right past Central goalkeeper Travis Yets.

In the 25th minute Central attempted to clear the ball from near the top of the 18, only to have a funky deflection send the ball past Yets.

That would be all the offense that Loras would need. Iowa Conference Player of the Week, Dylan Milkent would record three saves in his ninth shutout of the year. Milkent moved his Goals Against Average down a few more points to 0.38 and his Save Percentage up to .857.

Loras travels to Cedar Rapids on Wednesday to take on the Kohawks of Coe College in another Iowa Conference match up. The game will be streamed online courtesy of the Coe College Sports Information Office (http://www.coeathletics.com/sport/0/client.stretchinternet.com/client/coe.portal#).
