RESULTS, Rounds 1 & 2

The Loras College women's golf team is in fourth place at the halfway point of the 2012 IIAC Championship, just two strokes behind Central College for third and heading to the Dutch's home course for the final two rounds. Abby Potts is Loras' top golfer after 36 holes and tied atop the leaderboard.

Potts, a senior from Dubuque, was one of just four golfers to post two rounds in the seventies at Pheasant Ridge GC in Cedar Falls, Iowa over the weekend.

After an opening round 75, Potts returned Saturday with a 77 to claim a spot alongside Wartburg's Kelsi Sawatzky at the top of the leaderboard with two-round totals of 152. Potts and Sawatzky have two-shot leads on first round leader Jennifer Gaffney of Simpson, who posted a 72 on Friday.

After Potts, Loras' lineup is all between 15th and 23rd on the leaderboard.

Lauren Gonner sits in 15th with a two-day total of 168 (85/83). Mara Simonson is just three shots back in a tie for 16th. Kathryn Belanger and Megan Gregg are at 177 and 178 in 22nd and 23rd place.

Three of the Duhawks lowered their score from round one to round two, helping Loras take three shots off their team score from Friday (334) to Saturday (331). Central's 332-331 has them two strokes ahead of Loras in third place.

Rounds three and four are set for Friday and Saturday in Pella, Iowa at Bos Landen.
