In a tough North Region Battle Wednesday night in the Rock Bowl, freshman Katie Truesdale was the difference maker, as she scored the overtime winner for the Duhawks. Both teams played each other tough for 90 minutes and did everything in their power to not only score, but also keep the other off the scoreboard.

With a different lineup, featuring freshman Ailish Rispin, senior Hillary Wilson, and Truesdale, in a makeshift 2-5-3, Loras was able to put pressure on the Warhawk backs all night long. Loras would make run after run, but just couldn't put the right touch on it to score. Rispin, ran into this a number of times as she would hit the post twice, both with golden scoring opportunities.

The teams would battle tough through 90 minutes before entering the golden goal overtime. It would only take two and a half minutes of overtime before Rispin sent a long air through ball to find Truesdale streaking down the middle of the field. Using her body, she flicked it to the outside, took one touch, then sent a rocket past the Warhawk keeper to seal the victory for the Duhawks.

After going 0-2 over the last weekend, Loras has got to feel good about getting back to their winning ways. The key will be to hold this up this weekend as they travel to Minneapolis/St. Paul to take on Augsburg on Friday and Macalester on Saturday.
