Herrmann runner-up at Loras Fall Invite

The Loras College men's golf team finished in sixth place at their annual fall invitational on Tuesday at The Meadows Golf Club in Asbury, Iowa. Sam Herrmann was Loras' top individual, shooting a (-1) 71. He was one of only two players under par on the day. 


The Duhawks' leader and defending Iowa Conference medalist helped the team to a 313 team score. That was good for sixth place, two strokes behind Mount Mercy's gold team and nine shots ahead of Coe College.


Logan Bahl and James Komorowski carded matching 79's. That was good for a t-25 in the 65-golfer field.


Loras' final two scores among the top five were Jason Beer's 84 and Nick Martini's 87.


The ‘Gold' team for Loras shot a 325 – good for ninth place.


Leading that team was Austin Miller's 77. Four other Duhawks in that group, including individually entered Aaron Lewis, posted scores in the 80's. Ben Suchomski shot an 81, Jon Nugent an 83, Jimmy Gallery an 84, and Lewis an 87. Rounding out Loras' day was James Daly's 95.


Mount Mercy won the team title by 12 strokes, with their top five players each shooting a 73 or better. Clarke's Josh Udelhofen won the individual title with a 68.
