MEN- 1st Place
WOMEN- 2nd Place
The Loras College men's and women's swimming team enjoyed quite a bit of success in their second competition of 2009-10 on Saturday. The men's team took the team title ahead of seven other schools and the women's team fell just one point short of the first place slot in the highly competitive women's side.

For the men, senior Zach Gries won both the 100 and 200 yard backstroke races, the 200 yard Individual Medley and swam the second leg of the winning 400 yard freestyle relay. Gries was joined as an event winner by Andy Pape (100 yard freestyle), Ricky Lukacs (1650 freestyle) and Ryan Momberger (100 yard breaststroke) on Saturday.

On the women's side, the near win by Loras came after wins in four events. Two relay teams, the 400 yard medley relay team (Stephanie Czarobski, Kenzie Murray, Alex Proctor, and Andrea Hagen) and the freestyle relay team of the same four Duhawks each won. Proctor added a win in the 100 freestyle and Czarobski was tops in the 200 yard backstroke.

Loras follows with a busy weekend on November 20-21 in central Iowa. The Duhawks will compete at Grinnell on Friday and Simpson on Saturday.
