This week, the United States Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCA) announced their academic awards for the 2011-12 season.
The Loras College women's track and field team garnered one of 137 team awards handed out by the association based on their 3.35 team grade point average. That average is the second highest in the Iowa Conference.
Leading the women's roster was a trio of athletes who earned individual academic honors based on their academic and athletic prowess.
Meggen Elsen, Caitlin Groeper, and Katie Langmeier made the All-Academic Team. The trio each carry a grade point average above 3.30 and were among the best in their events during the 2012 season.
