This week, the United States Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCA) announced their academic awards for the 2011-12 season.

A pair of Loras runners made the cut as some of the top runners in their events in the country and matching that on-track success with a grade point average above 3.30.

Jerry Olp will be a junior in the 2012-13 season and Zac Gassman a sophomore when they return to campus and claim their 2011-12 USTFCCCA Scholar Athlete awards. Olp is a distance runner and Gassman was one of the four members of Loras' top-25 4x100 relay teams during the 2012 season.
