NCAA Division III Championships in the books
Fri, Jun. 1, 2012 - [Track]

On May 25 and 26, three Duhawks were in Claremont, California in attempt to reach the All-American stand and potentially win national titles in their events. Josh Goerdt ran the 400 Meter Dash, Meggen Elsen threw the hammer, and Katie Langmeier competed in the High Jump.

Senior Meggen Elsen landed one legal thrown in the preliminary round of 136'10". Elsen's toss put her 20th in the field in her final event in a Duhawk uniform.

Sophomore Katie Langmeier made her first appearance at outdoor nationals in the High Jump event. She set Loras' record earlier in 2012 and won the Iowa Conference title in the event earlier in May.  She was one of six competitors to reach the 5'2.5" height, essentially tying for 15th place.

Sophomore Josh Goerdt – who also set a school record in his event earlier in the season with his qualifying mark - ran two separate laps around the Claremont-Mudd-Scripps in the 400 Meter Dash. He was the eighth runner in to the nine-runner field to reach the finals with a first lap of 48.56 in the prelims. In the finals, Goerdt improved to a 48.43 but was .10 seconds from a scoring place with his ninth place finish.

The 2012 NCAA Division III Championships concluded Loras' season.
