The Loras College women's track and field team finished in second place out of nine teams on Saturday at the Monmouth Fighting Scots meet. The Duhawks logged a total of 98 team points.

RESULTS

Emily Sotelo won the women's 400 meter hurdle with a time 1:07 and Kayla Balke finished right behind her with a time of 1:08. The team of Molly, Pilcher, Laura Wondra, Briauna Richardson and Emily Roth placed third in the 4x100 meter relay with a time of 51.46 seconds. In the javelin throw, Kirsten Schultz finished third with a throw of 108'-10". Laura Wondra finished third in long jump with a jump of 17'-6". Caitlin Groeper finished third in high jump with a jump of 5'-5", the same as teammate Katie Langmeier, who earned fifth place points. In the pole vault, Rachel Kolbeck finished third with a second place height of 10'-8.75". In the hammer throw, Meggen Elsen finished second with a throw of 168'-1" – good for 13^th on the NCAA Division III list.

The Duhawks will compete at the 2012 Iowa Conference Championships this weekend down the road at the University of Dubuque. A year ago, the Duhawks finished in fifth place at Cornell College.
