The Loras College men's golf team was tenth at Buena Vista's Spring Invitational this weekend. The team shot a 318/320-638 to finish in a tie with Iowa Central Community College.
Loras' top two golfers each posted two rounds in the seventies. Sam Herrmann shot a 74/78-152 and Drew Massey had matching rounds of 78 to reach his 156. Herrmann finished tied for 14thand Massey was tied for 26th.
Alex Beck rebounded with a 79 in round two, three shots better than his opening round. James Komorowski was also two shots better in his final round.
Next up for the Duhawks is the 2012 Iowa Conference Men's Golf Championship. The Duhawks finished third in 2011, two strokes behind second place and one shot ahead of fourth. This year's tournament begins at Bos Landen in Pella, Iowa before concluding at the usual course, Finkbine in Iowa City, Iowa May 4-5.
