The UW-Platteville Invitational among deepest meets of the year

Both the men's and women's track and field teams were in Platteville, Wisconsin on Saturday for the Pioneer's Invitational. The women's team finished seventh  out of ten with 43 overall points. The Men's team finished ninth out of eleven teams with 31 overall points.


On the women's side, Kirsten Shultz finished second in the javelin throw with a throw of 34.84 meters. Katie Langmeier finished second in high jump with a jump of 1.68 meters. That matched her school record leap from earlier this season. Emily Sotelo finished third in the 400 meter hurdles with a time of 1:06.19.


For the men, Josh Goerdt finished second in the 400 meter dash with a time of 48.38 second. Goerdt's effort was a top ten time in program history and among the best in the country so far this season.


Next up for the Duhawks is the second trip of the spring to Augustana College. The women will compete on Friday and  the men will follow on Saturday.
