Loras wins eight events at Midweek meet on campus

The Loras College men's track and field team hosted their Midweek meet on Wednesday and posted wins in eight events on an overall great night to complete inside the Rock Bowl.


The Duhawks earned wins in a wide range of events, including jumps, throws, and running events on Wednesday. Ryan Seymour was the fastest of the 25 entrants in the 200 Meter Dash (22.66) and Tim Derr won the 110 Meter Hurdles (15.31) individually.


The 4x100 and 4x400 relay teams each won on their home track as well. The former needed 42.80 seconds to post the win and the latter 3:23.37.


Sam Ross was best in the Discus with a 138'-4" toss and Sean Campbell won the Hammer Throw with a 171'-2" heave. Ross was also second in the Shot Put. Campbell was third in the Javelin.


Mike Roth was best in the Pole Vault on the Rock Bowl's west end, reaching 12'-2.75" to claim the title over two Luther opponents.


Brett Epping's Triple Jump effort of 43'-8" was the best effort in a small field of four jumpers. Epping was also second in the High Jump.


Next up for the Duhawks is the April 14 trip up Highway 151 to UW-Platteville.
