Duhawks win several events at Midweek event

The Loras College women's track and field team hosted their Midweek meet on Wednesday and posted wins in six events on an overall great night to complete inside the Rock Bowl.


Runners Briauna Richardson, Katie Flogel, and Emily Sotelo each won their events. Richardson was the fastest entrant in the 400 Meter Dash, posting a 60.10 to earn a victory by .24 seconds. Flogel was one second faster than Nicole Powers of Luther in the 800 – reaching the finish line in 2:24.06. Sotelo won the 400 Meter Hurdles in 66.07.


Also on the track, Loras' top 4x400 Meter Relay team edged Luther's team by .08 seconds in the final race of the night.


Morgan Steere won the Shot Put with a 41'-3.75" effort.


Katie Langmeier won her second straight high jump title, reaching 5'-4.50" on Wednesday.


Loras added a pair of runner-up finishes in the Pole Vault and Javelin Throw.


Next up for the Duhawks is the April 14 trip up Highway 151 to UW-Platteville.
