The Loras College men's golf team hosted their annual Spring Invitational in the early part of the 2012 season on Sunday and Monday at The Meadows Golf Club and Thunder Hills Country Club. The two-round event concluded with the Duhawks fourth in the team standings.
Sam Herrmann was Loras' top individual in the event, taking the lead at the halfway point after carding an opening round 73 at The Meadows. He followed with an 80 at Thunder Hills and slipped to a tie for third place with IIAC rivals Tobi Kohl of Luther and Tyler Gunderson of Coe.
Drew Massey was the lone Duhawks to post two rounds in the 70s, with an opening round 78 and final round 79. Massey's efforts were rewarded with a top ten finish.
Matt Hillard, Bubba Carter, and Alex Beck each played in the 80s in each round.
James Komorowski played both rounds in the 90s for the Duhawks.
Next up for the Duhawks is the Clarke Invite at Eagle Ridge (South) on April 12.
