Roth 3rd in Long Jump

The Loras College men's track and field team started their indoor season on Saturday with a seventh place finish at the Sol Butler Classic.


Mike Roth posted Loras' best finish, a third place spot in the Long Jump. Roth's best effort was 21'-6.75" – a distance he posted in each of his final two jumps. Roth was also 11th in the 200 Meter Dash.


The 4x200 Meter Relay team of Ryan Seymour, Josh Goerdt, Michael Burnett, and Zac Gassman finished in fourth place with a 1:34.88. Jeff Schmidt was sixth in the 400 Meter Dash.


In the throwing events, Sam Ross posted Loras' best effort in the Shot Put. His second attempt went 42'-9", which was good for sixth place. Sean Campbell was fifth in the Weight Throw with a 49'-9.25" toss on his final attempt of the day.


Loras will next be in Monmouth, Illinois on Saturday for the Fighting Scots' Invite.
