Loras College freshman Jake Bridenbaugh set the school record in the 200 Yard Butterfly on Saturday as part of the second day of the University of Chicago's Invitational. Bridenbaugh won both the 100 and 200 Yard Butterfly events.

The Peoria, Illinois native finished the 100 Yard race in 52.12 and the 200 Yard race in 1:58.27 to claim 40 team points for the Duhawks. Bridenbaugh was also second in the 100 Backstroke by less than a half second.

Other significant swims came from Matt Bogen and Ricky Lukacs. That pair joined Bridenbaugh and Andy Pape on the fifth place 800 Freestyle relay team. Bogen was also 11th in the 200 Freestyle and 6th in the 1650 Freestyle. Lukacs was 12th in the 400 IM and not far behind Bogen in the 1650 Freestyle in 8th place.

The Duhawks participated in sessions 2 and 3 of the Chicago event on Saturday. Session 1 took place on Friday.

After Friday night's dual against Beloit College in Wisconsin, Loras will close the ‘regular season' with a quadrangular with the College of St. Mary, Morningside College, and Iowa Central Community College on Saturday, January 28th in San Jose Pool. The event will begin at 2:00 PM. This year's Liberal Arts Championships are February 16-18 at Principia College.
