Proctor posts 4th, 5th place finishes in Chicago

The Loras College women's swimming team finished in seventh place after competing in sessions 2 and 3 of the 2012 University of Chicago Invitational on Saturday. Session 1 took place Friday night and included six events.


Senior Alex Proctor posted top five finishes in a pair of 100 Yard events. In the butterfly, Proctor finished fourth in 1:02.88. In the freestyle, she was fifth in 56.29.  Proctor also scored points on the 8th place 200 Medley Relay team with Marguerite DelVecchio, Clare Ehlbeck, and Jillyn Gerken. Proctor and Gerken teamed with Renee Beach and Katie Callaghan for a top ten finish in the 400 Freestyle Relay.


The 800 Freestyle Relay of Gabby Gaulke, Evayn Roper, Desiree Tamez, and Laura Danay also posted a top ten finish (8:48.50).


After Friday night's dual against Beloit College in Wisconsin, Loras will close the ‘regular season' with a quadrangular with the College of St. Mary, Morningside College, and Iowa Central Community College on Saturday, January 28th in San Jose Pool. The event will begin at 2:00 PM. This year's Liberal Arts Championships are February 16-18 at Principia College.
