Wartburg 73, Loras 66

The Loras College men's basketball team fell to 4-11, 1-5 in the Iowa Conference on Saturday with a 73-66 home loss to the Wartburg Knights. Wartburg leaned on big man Jordan Sathoff for 28 of their points (14 in each half) and used 14 Duhawk turnovers to earn the victory.

Jordan Harrelson scored 14 points to lead the Duhawks on 5-of-8 field goal shooting. He added six rebounds and two blocks to his stat line. Taylor Baxter finished with 12 points – scoring 10 in the second half the Loras tried to chip away at the Wartburg lead late. Dan Pawelski finished with 11 points and a team high seven rebounds for the Duhawks.

Wartburg kept the lead between eight and 13 points for most of the evening. They led wire-to-wire.

Loras was one point better than Wartburg over the final 20 minutes, but the quick start by the Knights proved enough to send the Duhawks into the loss column.

The Duhawks will be in Storm Lake, Iowa on Monday night to take on the Buena Vista Beavers. Tipoff is set for 8:00 PM and can be heard live on AM-1490 WDBQ in Dubuque.
