Proctor wins twice for Loras College

Luther 150, Loras 89


The Loras College women's swimming team lost their second home dual meet of the season on Saturday, falling 150-89. Loras won three events on the day.


Alex Proctor won the 50 and 100 Yard Freestyle events in Loras' home pool on Saturday. The senior from Tipton, Iowa was 0.02 seconds faster than Luther College's Erin Connolly in the 50 yard race. Proctor touched the wall at 25.82 to Connolly's 25.84. Proctor edged Connolly again three events later, winning the 100 in 56.25. Connolly finished in 56.25.


Gabby Gaulke was the Duhawks' other winner. She took the 200 Yard Butterfly in 2:26.85, about four seconds ahead of teammate Katie Callaghan. Gaulke was also third in the 200 Freestyle. Stephanie Czarobski was second in the 200 IM.


The Norse won seven events, including the 200 Medley Relay.


The Duhawks will be in Chicago on Saturday for the University of Chicago Invite.


They'll return home for their final meet of the year in the San Jose Pool on January 28thwhen Morningside, College of St. Mary, and Iowa Central come to town. The meet will begin at 2:00 PM.
