Cornell 75, Loras 61

The Duhawks were unable to push their winning streak to a season best four games on Saturday afternoon in the AWC. The visiting Cornell Rams shot 47% from the field and made 20 free throws en route to a 75-61 win over the host Duhawks.

The Duhawks held a 14-8 lead halfway through the first half, but the visitors quickly chipped away and turned the final few minutes of the first half into a back-and-forth affair. Cornell earned a basket at the first half buzzer from Dubuque native Kathryn Schilling to extend their lead to five at the halftime break.

Schilling came out of the locker room with the hot hand as well, knocking down her two three-pointers of the afternoon on the Rams' first two possessions.

Cornell would go on to shoot 54% from the field in the second half and make 15-of-18 free throws to keep the Duhawks from ever claiming a second half lead.

Individually, Lindsey LaBadie scored a Duhawk-best 13 points on 5-of-8 shooting and also dished out nine of Loras' 15 assists.

Brit Kent scored 10 points off the bench in 15 minutes. Katie Langmeier had eight points and five steals. Niki Rivera was 3-of-5 from the field and finished with nine points.

Loras will be in Pella, Iowa on Wednesday to take on the Central College Dutch (5-8, 0-4) at 6:00 PM. They'll be back in the AWC on Saturday for another 2:00 PM tilt. The Wartburg Knights come to town on January 14th.
