Duhawks earn another dual win in pool

The Loras College men's swimming team earned a 33-point win over Augustana on Friday evening, 132-99, winning eight events.


Bookending the individual events for the Duhawks were wins in the 200 Medley Relay and 200 Freestyle Relay. Tyler Beauchamp, Ryan Momberger, Alec Schmidt, and Logan Perleth swam a 1:46.39 to beat their teammates for first place and the top Augustana team by 4.91 seconds. Schmidt then joined Jake Bridenbaugh, Andy Pape, and Tom Graziano to edge the Vikings in the 200 Freestyle to end the race. The Duhawks finished in 1:30.25 and the Vikings were just 0.14 seconds behind at 1:30.39.


Individually, Bridenbaugh continued his winning ways taking titles in the 200 Freestyle (1:47.92, 1stby 2.38) and the 100 Butterfly (53.24, 1stby 3.66 seconds). Pape was a sprinted to a win in the 50 Freestyle (23.13, 1stby 0.34) and 100 Freestyle (50.08, 1stby 0.43).


Other wins for the Duhawks came from Matt Bogen (1,000 Freestyle – 10:33.26) and Ryan Momberger (100 Breaststroke – 1:06.40).


At the conclusion of this week's final exams, the Duhawks will head to Jupiter, Florida for their annual training trip.


They'll return to San Jose Pool for their annual matchup with IIAC foe Luther College on January 7. That dual will begin at 1:00 PM.
