Lady Reds hand Duhawks 67-51 loss

The Loras College women's basketball team lost their fourth game of 2011-12 on Wednesday night to the Carthage College Lady Reds. Kelly Rogowski scored 15 points for the Duhawks and Melissa Herrmann and Lindsey LaBadie added 10 in the loss.

  

The Lady Reds scored 22 points off 15 Loras turnovers and used the 1-2 punch of Cailee Corcoran and Diana Jacklin to earn the win. Corcoran scored a game high 19 points and Jacklin added 18 for the visitors.

 

Carthage took a nine point lead in at halftime thanks to 13 made field goals and going 6-for-6 from the free throw line. The Duhawks were efficient, going 10-for-25 in the first half, but turned it over nine times leading to 16 Lady Reds points.

 

The Duhawks had the Carthage lead down to two points with under nine minutes to play, but the visitors used an 18-4 run to earn the win.

 

Next up, Loras hosts the Washington University Bears (6-1) on Friday at 5:00 PM in the AWC.
