Senior linebackers Zach Myers and David Zoeckler have been selected to play for Team Stars & Stripes in the 3rdAnnual Tazon de Estrellas(Bowl of the Stars) game in Puebla, Mexico on December 17, 2011.

According to organizers Global Football, "The Tazon de Estrellas and its forerunner the Aztec Bowl have produced a series of exciting games and established a fierce but friendly rivalry between the American team drawn from Division III all-stars and their counterparts selected from the CONADEIP national conference of private schools in Mexico."

49 players from a total of 27 NCAA Division III schools were selected from a field of over 200 nominees. A handful of players whose teams were eliminated in the first round of the NCAA Championships last week may join the squad.

Loras' Kile Beaver participated in the game a year ago.

"This is a great honor for both Zach and David," head coach Paul Mierkiewicz said last week.

"They are two of the hardest working players I have had the pleasure of being around. They are both deserving and will do a great job!"

Myers logged a team high 96 tackles (51 solo) in 2011 and Zoeckler registered a team high eight tackles for loss. They each recovered two fumbles.
